Strong interest from buyers has resulted in a significant increase in sales activity in the Whistler marketplace during 2007. Every category of property and every geological area have seen an increase in terms of number of sales and the total value of sales, far surpassing the levels achieved in 2006. Median values for properties have also increased significantly on a year to year comparison.

We are experiencing a steady drop in the number of properties available for sale and the expectation is we will continue to see this trend in the near term. Interest in Whistler should remain high as international awareness of the resort grows leading into the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. In the short term, there will be fewer properties for sale with the resulting effect of fewer transactions due to the smaller supply. This will lead to a shorter time on the market for those interested in selling and upward pressure on values.
